Gunther von Hagens’ BODY WORLDS: The Happiness Project is located in a historic building in central Amsterdam. Once housing the American Express offices, the building has been completely restored to accommodate the exhibition. You start your visit by taking the lift to the 6th floor, and then taking the stairs down through each consecutive level of the exhibition.
Accessibility for disabled visitors
BODY WORLDS: The Happiness Project is accessible to visitors who use a wheelchair, a walker, or a mobility scooter. Keep in mind that you will be taking a lift to the exhibition starting-point on the 6th floor. A small portion of the exhibition is situated in the basement and this is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. This is why we offer a discounted rate to disabled visitors. There is also, of course, a disabled visitor toilet.
Entrance time slots
When purchasing tickets, you will be asked to select a specific entrance time slot, for instance 11:00. This entitles you to access the exhibition until the beginning of the next time slot at 11:30. Once you’ve passed ticket check, you are more than welcome to spend as much time viewing the exhibition as you like, within opening hours.
Entrance time slots prevent the exhibition from becoming overcrowded during peak times, so that everyone can enjoy viewing the exhibition in a fun and unhurried atmosphere.
If you miss your entrance time slot, we’ll do our best – if capacity allows – to provide you access to the exhibition at a later time on the same day.
